EverStrand™
P.E.T. used to make plastic
beverage bottles is a higher-grade material than used in traditional PET
carpet. When those discarded bottles are recycled, they can be processed
into fibers that are far superior to lower-grade synthetic fibers used
in making other brands of carpet yarns. Our fiber families are responsible

carpet is not just a color these days, it's an eco-friendly carpet. Beaulieu
of America is a pioneer when it comes to green and sustainable (eco-friendly)
carpet manufacturing practices. Beaulieu is the maker of Bliss carpet,
dubeed by Bliss as "The nicest carpet in the world." It may be nice for
more reasons than you think. Beaulieu recycles 1.6 billion plastic drinking
bottles a year in order to produce Green Smart® which is their P.E.T.
polyester carpet fiber. The bottles are thoroughly cleaned after the caps
and labels are removed. The bottles are then shredded and melted down and
extruded into carpet fiber. This saves our landfills from literally billions
of soft drink bottles. So the next time you think about throwing out your
plastic bottle, look for the recycle bin instead. You just may end up walking
